Design research / 2022–23

How can media be designed to encourage community action in response to bushfire risk?

The bushfires of 2019-20 highlighted the need to build resilience within Australian communities and develop communications and engagement programs that enable residents to think about and respond to natural disasters.

This project focuses on the mountain communities of Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo, northwest of Brisbane, which are at risk of very high levels of bushfire intensity.

Using a codesign approach the research team will work with the community throughout 2022 and 2023 to develop a communication portfolio.
